OUT Georgia
Volunteer & Ambassador Interest Form
Thank you for your interest in volunteering with the OUT Georgia Business Alliance, Georgia’s LGBTQ+ Chamber of Commerce!
There are all sorts of in-person and online ways that volunteers support the organization – from helping set up an event to helping score Impact Fund grant applications to serving as an OUT Georgia Ambassador.
Please complete the following form to be added to our volunteer pool. Once complete, you will receive info on our volunteer orientation, up-coming volunteer opportunities, and Ambassadors Team.
Composition: Just like OUT Georgia’s Membership, we welcome volunteers from all backgrounds and experiences, including LGBTQ+-identified and LGBTQ+-allied Georgians with intersectional and/or underrepresented identities, which may include:
- Historically underrepresented and disenfranchised communities (e.g. Black, Indigenous, AAPI, Latinx, disability, Transgender, etc.)
-
Individuals or communities impacted by socioeconomic and cultural barriers (e.g. poor and rural communities, HIV/AIDS-related stigma, etc.)
-
Individuals or communities impacted by systems of oppression (e.g. justice, prison, policing, housing, access to healthcare, etc.).
Expectation: OUT Georgia’s Volunteers are expected to attend a general volunteer orientation, a project / event training session, and then invest approximately 2-3 hours per month on volunteer activities.
AMBASSADORS: OUT Georgia Ambassadors are current Members that go beyond the standard volunteer expectations to serve on the front lines of advancing Georgia’s LGBTQ+ Chamber of Commerce by:
- Promoting OUT Georgia’s mission, events, and programs;
- Engaging with prospective, new, and renewing Members and their businesses;
- Sharing and creating stories that lift up Member organizations;
- Helping OUT Georgia during live and virtual events;
- Assisting with new LGBT-owned Business Enterprise certification; and
- Shaping how OUT Georgia better represents and serves its diverse community of LGBTQ+ and ally businesses, nonprofits, professionals, and entrepreneurs.
In addition to initial training, Ambassadors will meet once monthly with the organization’s staff and should expect to volunteer about 4-6 hours per month on the above activities.
