Description: Operations & Programs Coordinator
Reports to: Executive Director
Job Type: Independent Contractor (1099); 20 hours per week
Hourly Rate: $20-30/hr, depending on experience
Location: Atlanta, GA or remote (GA)
Time: 6- to 12-month contract
The Operations & Programs Coordinator will support OUT Georgia’s Executive Director, Board of Directors, Members, Partners, Ambassadors, and the nonprofit’s key events and programs, including TGX360.
The position involves advancing the operational integrity and efficiency of the nonprofit chamber; elevating the experience for new and renewing Members; and project managing key events and programs throughout the year.
Under supervision of the Executive Director, the Operations & Programs Coordinator will perform a variety of responsibilities independently and in coordination with resource partners and volunteers in service of OUT Georgia’s mission and vision. The specific responsibilities of this position would be split by days (e.g. four hours per day for two days focused on OGBA Membership Management; four hours per day for two days focused on Events and Programming; etc.).
The role requires a professional approach, great accuracy, tech savviness, flexibility to work in different work environments, and strong business communication and organizational skills. Experience working in the nonprofit field is preferred.
Job Responsibilities
OPERATIONS & MEMBERSHIP
- Maintain a professional, organized digital working environment, documenting standard operating procedures and templates for improving/automating various processes.
- Schedule meetings and follow-ups for Executive Director, Board of Directors, and key stakeholders
- Maintain and update membership CRM system (MembershipWorks) and directory listings. Ensure accurate contact information is collected and displayed on website profiles. Process all new and renewed membership applications and membership monthly reports. Previous experience with CRMs preferred.
- Coordinate and follow-up on membership communications in a professional, friendly, and thorough manner.
- Ensure accuracy of Member benefit information and marketing collateral on the OGBA website, social media accounts, and printed materials.
- Assist in preparing and distributing reports and documents for monthly Board and Executive Committee meetings.
- Assist with projects as developed by the Executive Director and the Board, and contribute to the Executive Director’s effort by managing/accomplishing related tasks, as needed.
PROGRAMS & EVENTS
- Assist in supporting and executing valuable Member programming, including Partner and Sponsor management, programming support, marketing, and follow-up communications.
- Serve as project manager for OGBA’s programming and event experiences, ensuring coordination between internal and external resources and adherence to established timelines and milestones.
- Support the creation and execution of organizational communications, including general and segmented email communications (Constant Contact), web content (WordPress), social media, etc.
- Attend OGBA events to assist with set up, check-in, nametags, photography, information collections, and other tasks. Conduct post event follow-up where needed.
- Assist committees and programs to advance associated projects, communications, and deliverables, including TGX360.

- Must have knowledge of or ability and willingness to learn social media platforms (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram), website maintenance (WordPress), and membership CRM (MembershipWorks). Additional skills in Photoshop, Adobe, In Design, HTML5, and Excel formulas are welcome, as well as graphic design experience.
EDUCATION
Bachelor’s degree in related field from a four-year college or university is preferred, however comparable work experience will be considered in lieu of a degree.
