INTERVIEW SELECTION PROCESS: The selection process may include one or more components to demonstrate applicants’ knowledge, skills and abilities in job related areas. These may include exercises such as practical demonstrations, written communications, oral interviews and/or competency assessments.
Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Management, Civil or Mechanical Engineering, or a related discipline and a minimum of five years of experience in maintenance management, to include the areas of custodial services, landscaping, painting, signage, and facilities maintenance. Must have knowledge of contract administration, development of work programs, goals, and objectives, and budget formulation. In lieu of a degree, directly related experience may substitute on a year-for-year basis. Knowledge of the current Labor Contract, along with experience dealing with Union Representatives is desired. In lieu of a degree, directly related experience may substitute on a year for year basis.
Responsible for the planning, scheduling, and direction of building and support equipment maintenance. Establishes appropriate objectives and priorities for the branch in support of overall goals, communicates objectives and priorities to employees; updates objectives as business needs change. Organizes the branch and allocates work in a way that facilitates the achievement of the branch’s and division’s objectives. Develops appropriate documentation and reporting mechanisms necessary to measure performance and adherence to established goals and objectives for the branch. Because of the large scope of responsibility and safety involved, this position requires 24 hour “on-call” availability, to respond during emergencies, special events, weather related problems, etc.
1. Plans, schedules, and directs the maintenance of buildings and grounds equipment, including the purchase and maintenance of equipment and materials to ensure the timely completion of high-quality work at a minimum cost.2. Prepares, administers, and maintains adherence to budget.
2. Identifies safety and training needs and ensures that necessary job-related instruction is provided to employees. Administers safety programs and conducts training needs analysis on an annual basis.
3. May act for the Director during the Director’s absence.
4. Performs other related duties as assigned.
Must possess a valid Georgia Driver’s License.
