OUT Georgia Business Alliance is expanding its volunteer Ambassador Program and recruiting efforts to better represent and inform the state’s only LGBTQ+ and Allied Chamber of Commerce in 2021 and beyond.

“After successfully relaunching our Ambassador Program in 2020 with a grant from NGLCC and Bank of America, we’ve built a volunteer team of more than 25 passionate LGBTQ+ and allied professionals who are shaping the OUT Georgia experience, connecting with our Membership, and helping engage diverse voices and perspectives to bring our mission and vision to life,” said Chris Lugo, Executive Director of the OUT Georgia Business Alliance.

“In 2021, we’re expanding our Ambassador team so that our work to advance economic equity incorporates even more folx from our community,” Lugo added. “We want to encourage all Members who are interested to consider joining our Ambassador team, including young professionals, those outside Metro Atlanta, those with disabilities, our LGBTQ+ allies, and those who identify with the BIPOC, Latinx, Transgender, Non-binary, Gender Nonconforming, and Queer experiences.”

OUT Georgia Ambassadors are proud volunteer Members on the front line of advancing Georgia’s LGBTQ+ Chamber by:

  • Promoting OUT Georgia’s mission, events, and programs;
  • Engaging with prospective, new, and renewing Members and their businesses;
  • Sharing and creating stories that lift up Member organizations;
  • Helping OUT Georgia during live and virtual events;
  • Assisting with new LGBT-owned Business Enterprise certification; and
  • Shaping how OUT Georgia better represents and serves its diverse community LGBTQ+ and ally businesses, nonprofits, professionals, and entrepreneurs.

In addition to an initial training, Ambassadors will meet once per month with the organization’s staff and should expect to volunteer about 6-8 hours per month on the above activities.

OUT Georgia’s Ambassador Program is supported through a grant provided by NGLCC and Bank of America.

OUT Georgia Business Alliance strives to recognize, promote, and improve LGBTQ+ businesses and the LGBTQ+ business community and to uphold the highest standards of excellence, integrity, and respect. Ambassadors, just like our Members, are expected to uphold our Code of Conduct.

“The Ambassador Program is a great way to learn more about OUT Georgia’s work, get involved with Georgia’s only LGBTQ+ chamber, and play a crucial role in advancing LGBTQ+ and ally businesses across our state,” Lugo said. “Now’s the time to get involved as an Ambassador, and all it takes is a quick email to get started!”
